
You may have seen several types of rice recipes in my feed. this CUMIN RICE is originally from Indian cuisine. Cook it once, you won’t stop falling in love with it. So fragrant, delicious. All the aromas from cumin, bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon and cardamom with flavour of ghee is speechless. .
1.wash 2cups of basmati rice 3-4 times, soak in cold water about 20-30 minutes and drain.
2.heat a pot with 1tbs ghee and add 1,1/2tsp of cumin seeds, cinnamon piece, 3 cardamom pods, 2 bay leaves, 1 star anise. Sauté couple of minutes and add the rice.
3.toast rice with fragrant another couple of minutes and add 4cups of water and salt.
4.stir and cook. Bring it to boil and cook until water level goes down. Cover and cook in low heat until your rice is done and all the water gets absorbed.
5.fire off and leave covered around 5-7 minutes. Fluff the rice using a fork and serve. .
